January Bead Journal Project Page - Completed!

This afternoon when I came home from work the bead I'd ordered for the January page was in the mailbox so I quick like a bunny, finished the page. I guess it is rather unorthodox to embroider a full page while leaving a 'hole' for just the 'perfect' bead but that's what I did - I guess I'm pretty lucky to have found something - the 'perfect' bead would be the lampworked lentil in the center - made by an amazing artist on etsy. I'm happy to have this done - I may be travelling unexpectedly as I received a call today that my mother had fallen and broken her pelvis and was hospitalized. She lives in Phoenix so a visit would be a bit more than a 'day trip'. In any event, the page is done and I'm quite happy with it. It's much more sparkly in person.

You went in a totally different color direction than I anticipated, but I love it. That lentil is gorgeous.

Hope your Mom is better soon.

It really turned out nice. I love sparkly!

Hope your mother will be okay. Phoenix is rather nice for weather right now at least. Don't forget to take your beadwork!!

I forgot to leave my suggestion for a wall hanging. What is you made it more horizontal as in 2 down and 6 across. Then the weight could be distributed across a strong rod at the top. It would be nice to have them out where they could be enjoyed rather than in a book which might be set aside when you need extra space.

It still looks mighty sparkly and it turned out beautifully. Best wishes for your mom's recovery and a safe trip for you.

Haven't been checking on the BJP pages recently (naughty girl:)) and so it was a nice surprise to come straight to your page. I don't think you are strange at all, I would have done exactly the same thing if I knew that is what my piece needed.

The hanging or binding is the one thing that has started to creep into my head at the moment. I think I am going towards placing them in a box which will be decorated, of course, so they can be handled and felt. One of reasons I like beading is because of its tactile nature.

Loved the December pages as well with all the nutcrackers in a line, just like the display in my house each year.

Hope your mothr is ok and recovers quickly.

This is beeeeautiful lass, as is the new pup! FINALLY got my computer back up. Have been wanting to tell you how great it was to spend some time with you and your peeps at AFF. I see you are doing Alma's class. Loved her and the class at AFF. Now you have me thinking about the joggles classes. Hmmm.
Sending good juju to you and your Mom.

While I really like your lampwork bead center piece, I think your work is exquisite. Your patterns and textures with beads is what appeal to me the most about this piece, and the flow of it! It's fabulous!

Sorry about your mother... hope she's getting back on her feet. I've just returned from 10 days in MN with my mom, who is ill with phemonia and complications. So I know how it is....
