July Bead Journal Project Page
The solution to the last page problem was to work on it for about six more hours, hate it even more with every bead and starting again. What I learned from the experience is that doing something very detailed and pictorial and trying to do it while being spontaneous just isn't something I'm skilled enough to do yet. And so, I started a new page that I'm much happier with. I'd be happier if I could get accurate colors to show up on the web page, but that really is insignificant at this point.
Also, I don't know how to respond to questions I've received on the blog. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be most appreciative.

I know what you mean about colors not being true here. However, I like what your doing here so far, and look forward to seeing more of it.

Diane, this is so lovely, yet I liked your other start as well... not the same story, but in the same book. Does that make any sense? What will you do with the "reject?" My wish for you is that you'll find extra time and do two hearts for July... one, the pretty, flowing one you've shown in this post and two, the one shown started in the previous post. It's there for a reason. You just have to keep working with it to find acceptance and understanding. Blessings... R
Perhaps your first July piece IS done -- maybe that was all it was meant to be, do you know what I mean?
Your colors are so lovely, so calming, yet mysterious.

Diane, your July is flowing and brings me peace. Thanks, Lillian
You could answer questions with another blog entry or you can answer them using the comments function at the bottom of each entry?
Or are you asking a more complicated question and I'm totally missing it?
Comparing your two starts - what completely different "feelings" they have. I actually really like both, but I know what you mean about being unhappy with your art and the directin it's taking.
With the questions, are you referring to blog etiquette? You can just click on the blue underlined name to get to the commmentor's blog and then post a response comment on one of their blog entries, or make a comment yourself on your own blog entry addressing the group, or e-mail each commenter seperately with a personal response. Not sure if that's what you were asking, but thought I'd throw it out there :)
I really like what you're doing with this, and I liked your earlier start, too.
Every piece I've ever worked on was/is a love-hate dance with beads and composition. I usually go through a stage where I hate everything about what I'm doing, and feel like cutting it out and starting over. And sometimes I do. But I press on a little longer most of the time and I end up liking it better once I'm closer to finishing. That being said, if you are really not liking the piece, for whatever reason, don't get crazy over it. Art changes all the time, and yours (and mine) can, too.
